In 2016, 5,600,000 children world wide lost their lives due to the disease that can be prevented. Disease not only threatens children’s lives but also cause economic poverty in their households. Furthermore, poverty eradicates educational opportunity for these children which results in passing poverty cycle from one generation to another. Finally, childhood health is vital in determining adulthood health. Therefore, acquiring proper nutrition and disease prevention in youth is extremely necessary.

Supporting low class Hare Lip and Cleft Palate patients to foster self-respect and fight negative perspective towards patients and disabled.

Myanmar Hare Lip and Cleft Palate Project

“My heart was cured once my lip was cured.”
We witnessed that small surgery, small help can change the lives of children.

Hare Lip and Cleft Palate condition includes cleft lips, nose, and skin. It cause inconvenience while eating but the most hardship that these patients have to face is the look of others. In some of developing countries, Hare Lip and Cleft Palate patients still receive an attitude of ‘bad luck’ and ‘bad faith’ from others.

Surgery for Hare Lip and Cleft Palate is

World Together Myanmar Department had cooperated with local agencies to help 40 Hare Lip and Cleft Palate patients annually. 90% of the recipients live in the rural area outside Yanggon which lacks medical infrastructure. As of 2017, total 150 children received surgery in Shwe Baho Hospiatal in Yangon and Yangon Dental Hospital from 2014.
